We're still in Romans 9, but of course, that takes us to Jacob and Esau. If you're new to Cliffside and that doesn't make any sense at all, just stop reading and press play.

The older shall serve the younger. Jacob I have loved; Esau I have "loved less". Is that evil? NO!

The nation of Edom shall serve the nation of Israel. When will this happen? I'll give you a clue... it hasn't happened yet.

Jacob holds on and won't let him go. Who's he hanging on to? One answer is "Israel". There are other answers as well. Just like Pharaoh, he is holding on to the first born. And that connects to who Jacob was hanging on to. Jesus Christ... the first born. And Jesus renames Jacob to Israel right after that.

All the aforementioned is just a recap. There's more. God wrote this. What are the attributes of this God? Infinite... Everlasting...

'Holding on' is a theme in Scripture. But there are more themes that our pastor will discuss ... as per the following scriptures.

Gen 32:22-30
Gen 33:10
Gen 33:4
Luke 15:20-22.

These verses are all very connected.

This sermon's going to be an eye opener, so I'll let pastor take it from here.

Okay... along with the list provided as a PDF attachment to this lecture you've got all you need from me. You'll need to collect your TextBook and notepad before you take the next step. And of course the only 'next step' is to ... press play.

Cliffside and pastor Chronister want to thank you for listening and for taking time out of your busy day to write and call him with questions and encouragement.
