One of the most vexing questions that we have to confront as the people of God is that of why do the wicked prosper and the righteous struggle and have trials and difficulty. It seems as though those who are indifferent to God, those who are rebellious to God, have a life of relative ease and prosperity in contrast often to those who are trying to live Godly lives. That's not a new problem or a new question. The righteous have often struggled with the prosperity of the wicked. And if we're honest we sometimes find ourselves asking "Is it really worth it? I've tried to be faithful to the Lord and it seems to only make my life more difficult."
