II. Leadership

52

A ministry team begins with two people that agree to be accountable to one another in their study of God's Word, their spiritual walk with the Lord, their prayer life, and in seeking to bring lost people to Christ through personal witnessing and discipleship.

When new members formally join a local church, they are essentially enrolling themselves into a large ministry team (synergism) for "perfecting the saints" (Ephesians 4:12). This expected spiritual dynamic MUST be explained to every person seeking to become a formal member of a local church (ministry team). Secondly, it is also essential that the spiritual dynamic necessary for synergism must be explained to individuals seeking to join a ministry team to minister. To join a ministry team without understanding that they will be expected "to do the work of the ministry" is defeating to the spiritual dynamic for synergism to be created and maintained. New members should immediately be approached by a ministry team leader.
