The Holy Sight

The transfiguration of the Lord Jesus Christ on the mountain that was beheld by Peter, James, and John was one of clearest and most powerful manifestations of his deity. Moses and Elijah's conversation with the Lord focused on the chief reason for his incarnation - his coming death in behalf of sinners. The Father's "unmediated" voice from heaven declared his love for his Son as well as the obligation for all peoples to listen to him, that is, to heed and obey him as the promised Messiah and only Savior from sin.
