I will build my Church

Although the book we know as 'The Acts of the Apostles' seems on the surface to be all about the works that various men did during the apostolic age, the whole book is really all about Christ and how he is fulfilling his prophetic promise in Matthew 16, "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Christ does this through the works the apostles did.

Christ is the king and the head of his church.

1. The Apostles' acts only took place in response to he command of Christ.

2. Their mission was made effectual by the empowering of Christ.

3. The Apostles' acts were done in the light of the return of Christ in glory, in majesty and in judgement.
