Seek the Kingdom First

Nehemiah is one of the Biblical figures who shows us how to live for the King of kings in the midst of powerful nation states. These powers have their own agenda but sometimes assist the purpose of God and sometimes thwart it, even viciously. To live well in this situation we need to be clear that God is revealing himself to the world, have deep affection for God and his kingdom, firm resolve and clear plans, and above all, know that the 'good hand of God’ on all that we do. It can be a rough ride, but, as in these ancient times, there are some church defences that lie in ruins and need some repair.
