Take Your Only Son

How similar are the words to those in the New Testament. God said to Abraham, "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac". Jesus is called "the only begotten son of God" (John 3:16). At Jesus' baptism, God declared, "this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:16). Paul declared, "God sending His own Son" (Romans 8:3). Isaac foreshadows Jesus Christ.
