Sardis - The Dying Sick Church Called to Watch

We learn that God has expectations for His church. We are not here for the pleasure of man but of God. Our ministry is first and foremost to be unto the Lord to serve and glorify Him. The church is for God’s good pleasure. But this church was wanting. Spiritual life was draining away and would soon be dead, or a thing of the past.
It could be said of many churches that they have a name to live but are dead. A church may have a great history and a name of fame. It may have a wonderful heritage, but now you could soon write ICHABOD over its doors.
