God's People Rebuked

After God speaks of mercy and judgment for His people in chapter 27, He begins speaking more particularly of the discipline that must come upon the true People of God. "Now I am happy all the day!" is the word of a mistaken Christian, not the Word of God!

For their sins of abusing God's blessings and following after sensuality, especially drunkenness, God would withdraw His good gifts that the people would learn to put their trust and delight in Him.
