Jesus Is the Light of the World

God was the light before there was a sun, or a moon, or stars in the sky, so even all earthly life depends more upon God than upon the sun in the sky. For the soul of man, life without God is like life without the sun in the sky. The soul is dark and exists only in the realm of feelings and desires. There is no where to go and nothing to focus on except the basest of desires and feelings. What would the world be like without the sun? That is what a soul is like without Christ!
