When Rights are Wrong

This fourth message continues the third by revealing the practical consequences of being under the wrath of God. Unrepentant sinners, persisting in their rebellion, undergo three levels of God's anger: First, they are DEFILED physically as God gives them over to impurity (moral uncleanness) - this dishonoring of their bodies produces shame. They swap the truth of God for the lie, foolishly worshiping and serving the creature rather than the Creator. Secondly, they are DISTRESSED emotionally as God gives them over to degrading passions (ungovernable affections) - females substituting their God-given function and males surrendering their God-given function - committing indecent acts and receiving the penalty for their sins. Thirdly, they are DEPRAVED mentally as God gives them over to a depraved mind (disapproved conscience) - they are totally confused in their reasoning. Using their enlightenment to do what is improper, they are enslaved to a variety of sins and enable other sinners to do the same.
