Before Creation Where Was God? And Wickedness: Sodom and Pre-Flood

543 ( 519 | 24 )

I am your friendly commentator at beautiful downtown Cliffside, aka “He who must not exist”. Pastor Chronister's nick name for me is Supper Dave, and I tell you this because people accuse our pastor of writing his own lecture descriptions, using a pseudonym. It's been a running joke with our Internet congregation for quite some time, and we absolutely love it. And... I couldn't make it in to church last Sunday due to the flu, or at least, that's my excuse, according to our pastor. So, pastor Chronister's imaginary friend is writing this description from the recording at home this week. Let's all feel sorry for his imaginary friend. Okay, now that we've dealt with that nonsense, I can get back to attempting to describe this lecture for you.

Last Sunday we got into the ownership of a man by another man. Is this covered in the Ten Commandments? Yes! But I'll let pastor tell you where. We'll be getting into this further, but first we have a question from the Internet audience.

Ralph from New Zealand asks, “Before God created heaven and earth, before He created Angels, before He created anything, where was He, and what was He doing?” Ralph says, “Answer me that dude.” And so now, our pastor is calling himself, “The Answer me that Dude.” Anyway, I think you'll like the answer.

And we have another question from Pastor Sherman. When God describes Sodom as “exceedingly wicked”, what does He mean? So, we go back to the only other time before that, that “wicked” is used, and that would be Genesis 6, describing the pre-flood world. What was worse, the antediluvian world or Sodom?

But now it's time to start the lecture, so open your TextBook and press play.
