The proof that John gives to his disciples and to us, that Jesus is worthy to be above all men in rank, is found in these 3 declarations of truth concerning His unique Personhood. 1st – Jesus is a unique Person among men, and above all, in that He came from heaven. (verse 31) 2nd – He is above all in that He testified of what He had heard from the Father. (verses 32 and 33) And 3rd – He is above all because He has been given the Spirit without measure. (verse 34)
