Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread - Catechism 125

When we pray “Give us this day our daily bread,” we acknowledge that God alone is able to provide all that we need.

This petition is rooted in Jesus' words, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Mt 6:33)

What are you concerned about?

Are you concerned about your job?
Your family?
Your future?

Jesus says that if we are fixated on our own needs, then we will miss the point of our existence. But if we seek first his kingdom, then all that we need will be provided.
