Great Expectations

We live in a celebrity-driven culture that now has what is called "influencers." These are people with large internet followings who post videos of themselves online talking about all sorts of things, but friends listen to me – the greatest influencers walking this planet today are those who scatter the seed of God's word. You don't know their names or recognize their faces. They work at the post office, or Wal-Mart, or in an office cubicle, but these insignificant seeds, sown by names unknown will, over time and through many storms and hard seasons, grow in unexpected ways to produce a harvest, and that is the hope we need to take away from this text this morning.
