Who Is The God of Esau?

319

As the sermon starts, Pastor reads a letter from a large Bible study in Washington State. A wonderful lady named Mary writes from that study with some great questions, and pastor answers a little.

Did you know that some of what takes place between Esau and Jacob are actually not about Jacob and Esau? Well, sort of. I'll let pastor clear that one up for you. Pastor talks about shadows and types. If you're new to those terms, take a listen. It’s the Old Testament teaching you about Christ.

Esau is a Nation, and Esau is a person. Don't assume when you read about Esau outside of the book of Genesis, that it's Esau the person.

“Have you ONLY ONE Blessing Father?” What is the blessing here? Some of you have guessed it! Wait, you didn’t think this was about money, did you? Oh, no you didn’t. Listen and find out.

Jacob got Esau, the Priest of the family, to admit he is unsaved. Just a side question pastor asks... How many saved pastors do you think there are in Christian churches today? You may not like the answer.

Let’s go on to Genesis 32:23-32. Hey, what’s this? Here you find 'holding' and 'blessing'. The name of the Man who Jacob held onto was "Salvation", Y'shua, Jesus. Can we hang onto our own salvation? Pastor says, “It'd be like you trying to hold on to an F-22 at full speed in flight.” So what’s going on here?

Now on to Genesis 33. Can a man as bad as Esau be saved? Read the story. It’s The Prodigal Son. And Esau is in the Father's position here. Yah! One of the biggest "WHAT?!"'s in the Bible.

Any questions? Call or write to our pastor. He’d love to hear from you. Thanks to those who support this ministry.
