I. Four Sets of Witnesses (vs. 6-9)

A. By the Way Jesus Came - By Water and Blood; The Spirit of Truth Bears Witness (vs. 6)

B. Three that Bear Witness in Heaven - The Father, The Word, The Holy Spirit (v. 7)

C. Three that Bear Witness on Earth - The Spirit, And The Water, And The Blood; The Greater Witness of God (v. 8-9)

D. The Witness of God Within the True Believer (v. 10-12)

1. The Internal or Inward Witness (v. 10a; Romans 8:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12); the Unbeliever Makes God a Liar (v. 10b; John 5:39-40, 38)
