Day 1: 2 Cor 8:4-5, Matt 6:21, and discuss: What was so unusual about the way the Macedonians gave? Whose need to meet was the most pressing on their hearts? Did they allow their limited means keep them from giving? What were they sharing in by giving? What did they give first before they gave materially? How does our giving reflect our priorities?

Day 2: 2 Cor 8:7-8; 2 Cor 9:5-7, Exo 25:2, Exo 35:4-5 and discuss: Why is it important to God for us to give willingly? How does that show our worship? How does a freewill offering show the motive the heart better than giving by compulsion?

Day 3: 2 Cor 9:7, Gen 28:20, Gen 14:18-19,1 Chr 29:5; Lev 1:4, Isa 53:6, Eph 5:2, and discuss: How were Abraham and Jacob different in their giving? How is giving willingly tied to joy? How is Jesus the ultimate example of giving willingly? How should this motivate us in our giving? Is there anything that we can give to God that comes remotely close to what Christ gave to us?
