Heralds of the Kingdom

The disciples were called by Jesus to become heralds of the Kingdom. The King, Messiah Jesus, was training them to carry on His work in spreading the gospel of the Kingdom after His return to the Father. Luke 9 opens with His first sending out of the disciples. His instruction to them focused on their need to trust Him for His supplying all their need. The events that follow this mission center on the response of the people, including King Herod.
