How to Open a Chest of Gold

Aim: To recognize that all true success and wealth and prosperity is a gift of God.

Exegesis: Know whose perfection we are promoting. The day (v. 15a) and the number (v. 15b) is significant. Know whose kingdom we are promoting. God's rule is over His people (v. 16) and over all people (v. 17a). Know whose mercy we are promoting. God's covenant (v. 17b) and grace (v. 17c) are clearly seen here. Know whose honor we are promoting. This extends to individuals (v. 18a) and the whole church (v. 18b). Know whose glory we are promoting. God is the creator (v. 19a) and possessor (v. 19b) of all wealth.

Key verse: v. 19 ''But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are consecrated to the LORD; they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.''
