Still Groaning in the Tent

173 ( 145 | 28 )

The Apostle Paul was a tent maker by trade. If we know anything about tents, it is a temporary dwelling place. We don’t pour concrete over the tent pegs to make them hold stronger. We don’t build a shingled roof or add brick and mortar to a tent. That would be ridiculous because we know that after a tent is erected it will be taken down in a relatively short amount of time. There is no expectation for a tent to be a permanent dwelling. Our body is also a tent and is a temporary dwelling place for our soul. It is very likely one day your tent will be taken down. In other words you will die; but God has assured His people that He has already prepared a building for us in which to live that stands forever! In other words a heavenly house which will never die! We may have an inch of trouble in this transitory dwelling place, but God has immeasurable and boundless joy in store for the Christian in their eternal dwelling place!
