Offended

Jesus shocks the synagogue with the news that life comes only by eating ‘bread from heaven’. The shock increased when He declared himself to be that ‘living bread’. Those who come to Him must believe His life was the very life of the Son of God. But there is more. Those who come to Him must also accept His bloody sacrifice on their behalf: they will have to ‘drink His blood’. That is the source of eternal life; nothing else. Believe in Jesus’ perfect life lived on your behalf. Believe in Jesus’ sacrificial death on your behalf. Taste, drink, live.
