Please! Don't Draw Back

Do we have any responsibility in our salvation after we receive Christ? Are not we the elect? What does the Bible teach on this subject? Is there just one author that speaks to this topic? May the Lord give us the determination to find out what the scriptures say. My desire is that each one who hears will finish well.
