Pleasantness Of Religious Life

Matthew Henry is most well-known for his majestic Exposition of the Old and New Testament. What follows is the first chapter of The Pleasantness of a Religious Life, which is being prepared for re-release as an e-publication later this summer. This was Henry's last work, and was in the process of being printed when he died at age fifty-two. Unfortunately, our generation is all too content with gratifying momentary cravings, scratching about on the surface of deeper satisfaction that can only be found once intimate fellowship is restored with our Creator.
