A Saint's Precious Death

78

It is often the case that when we are weak and tired, we feel out of sorts spiritually, as we focus on our pains and fears.

But our dear sister Joy Whitten, who went to be with the Lord last week, though she was very frail and in physical distress, maintained so strong a testimony of rejoicing in the fact that soon, she would be with Jesus!

At death, Christ presents His people in the sight of His Glory without fault at all!

Thus, when the saints fall asleep in Jesus, we are instantly in the presence of Christ's glory, and we are faultless before Him with exceeding joy!

This our Lord accomplished by dying in our place at Calvary, and taking away all our sins, by which we are justified - declared to be without fault at all legally - by God at the moment we trust in Jesus.

Yet in this life we are still weighed down with this old body of sin, broken and flawed by the fall and our sins.

But Jesus is able to present us faultless in His presence when we die. He loved us and gave Himself for us, that He might present us unto Himself not having any spot or wrinkle or any blemish at all.

When we die, our bodies are buried to await the resurrection, and all that is left of us that was defective and weak and broken by sin is stripped away, and we appear instantly in our Savior's presence without fault!

One day He will raise up our bodies and glorify them as well, and clothe us with them.

No wonder the death of the saints is precious to the Lord, for thereby He brings us into His presence without fault with exceeding joy!

Hebrews asserts that we are come into the company of the spirits of just men made perfect, when we come unto Mount Zion.
