The Wonderful God

Aim: To believe in and love the God of wonders.

Doctrine: The wonderful God effects great and unexpected deliverance. When His church is down, Christ appears with glorious strength.

Exegesis: How the saints fetch Christ to their aid: first, they pray to God in their trouble (vv. 1-3); then, they believe God's incredible promises (vv. 4-9); finally, they worship in (and as) His house (vv. 10-11).

Further application: How to escape stale, humanistic religion: recognize that the Christian God really exists, and see that faith in Christ leads to love for Him.
