Imitating Christ in Relationships

I. Right relationships are founded upon Salvation & Submission to one another (vv. 1,2,8)
• Following Christ in attitude & speech: Negative & positive commands.
• Submission (v. 21): voluntary subjection of yourself to the will of another.
II. Right relationships are cultivated through Biblical heartfelt worship (vv. 18-19).
• Drunkenness v. spirit-filled
• Worship is about relationships; our relationship to Christ & our relationship to each other.
III. Right relationships depend on a thankful heart (v.20).
• A thankful heart is a heart focused upon the great work of Christ for His people
• A thankful heart comes from trusting in the truth of Romans 8:28.
• Gratitude for Christ will lead to gratitude for each other (Rom. 1:8; Eph. 1:16)
