A belated not-so-happy birthday to Darwin on this edition of Generations. Hey, and thanks alot for the eugenics. . . And the racism. . . And the nihilism. . . And the advent of pseudo-science. In the which, we struggle with what exactly it was that Darwin contributed that was worth all this hoopla.
In the commemoration of Darwin's 200th birthday, we review his commitment to social Darwinism, his incipient racism, and endorsement of eugenics.
