The Empowering Ministry of the Spirit

The Book of Acts is the account of the working of the Holy Spirit in and through the apostles and the church to bear testimony to Jesus Christ. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is foundational to everything that goes on the churches life and ministry. The apostles had already performed miracles and proclaimed the message of the coming kingdom and announced that Jesus of Nazareth is the coming Messiah. Now Jesus tells them you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. There is going to be a new dimension to their lives and ministry. A new power associated with their service to the living God that will enable them to testify in more effective ways than they had ever done before. The Holy Spirit was coming to reside within them and His ministry is to testify to the truth.
