Our perception of God's word is vital for sustained and meaningful growth in Scriptural application. Love for God is a better motive for applying God's word to your life than fear. Knowledge carries both privilege and responsibility. All of God's commands are essential. You must strive to obey God's commands even if seeming contradictions are not yet resolved in your mind.
