Kept by the Power of His Name

The "High priestly prayer," of Jesus reveals the love of the Father and the Son, and the many ways their love is bequeathed to His children. This prayer must have been thrilling to hear. I hope it will be as thrilling for you who name the name of Jesus as your own. Be thrilled, motivated, emboldened and comforted. In the previous section, v6-11, the theme was you are "mine." In this section of the prayer, the theme is, you are, "kept." This prayer occurred on Thursday night, the same night Jesus washed their feet, conducted the Lord's Supper, saw the betrayal of Judas, and arrested by a garrison. As light dawns our Lord Jesus will be tried, crucified, and killed by 3:00 in the afternoon.
