Transformed by the Light!

Jesus Christ never presented Himself to people as an 'Add-on', that is, the person can trust in Him as savior and then continue on in their old life-style. Salvation involves radical transformation. We become new creations in Christ Jesus. Our lives are transformed by the Light! Paul in Ephesians 4 paints a 'Before' and 'After' picture of a follower of Christ. Before Christ, we were self-centered, Scripturally blind, spiritually insensitive, and had adopted a sensual, sinful lifestyle. But since our lives were transformed by the Light, instead of being self-centered, we are now Christ centered. Instead of being Scripturally blinded, we are now Scripturally taught. Instead of being Spiritually insensitive, we are now spiritually responsive. We are learning to put off the old way of life by putting on the new. And the transformation takes place as we have new input-- new 'software' or 'operating system' installed. We are in process of become like Jesus which will not be complete until we die or Jesus comes. And instead of a sensual, sinful lifestyle, we are developing a spiritual, light-like lifestyle! Within us, the Spirit of God develops the 'fruit of light': goodness, or moral excellence; righteousness, or spiritual excellence; and truth, or personal excellence or integrity. And the development of these qualities is our life-long pursuit! Our aim is to fully please Jesus Christ-- and thus shine as lights in this world!
