A Horrible Vow

139 ( 91 | 48 )

Even though sin has been around since Adam and Eve, it does not make it right or okay. What our parents do is not our fault. We are responsible for our behavior and they are responsible for their behaviors. In life, it is often the case, that people want a leader, but most do not want to lead. Jephthah wanted to help his brothers because he knew that God had given them the land. Jephthah started with diplomacy but the king of Ammon ignored him. The problems we have in the world today are the same problems that were there were years ago. The condition of the human heart has not changed. We often think that we can bribe God, but He is not moved by our deals. He owns everything and He does not need anything from us. He requires us to obey, for obedience is better than sacrifice. God does not want us to make vows that we cannot keep. We should offer ourselves as living sacrifices.
