The Master's Manifested Deity, Peter's Life

23

When Jesus began His ministry, He did something that was completely unexpected, He called upon everyone to Repent and Believe the Gospel of the Kingdom. The people had so corrupted Judiasim, which controlled every aspect of their lives that while they had the responsibility to obey their spiritual leaders, they didn't care if those leaders were qualified.
Jesus was telling the people that they were totally wrong, and that salvation was not a work of their own peity, but it was solely an act of God's Sovereign Grace.
There are many different views about who Jesus is/was today.
Recently we saw that Billy Graham had his last publicly televised revival program, in which he said many sweeping thing about Christianity, and seemingly called people to salvation in Christ alone.
But one thing that was striking is that Graham yet again called men and women to works salvation.
He made faith a work and said that "to believe in Christ was to commit to service." Salvation is not an outcome of Service!
Here is the setting, Jesus has been teaching about the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Repentance and faith.
Here is his pattern and the pattern that the Apostles learned. He is in the Synagogue preaching and teaching, then he travels around the towns and preaches the gospel in the houses and in the streets.
