Esau and his descendants always wanted to seize the birthright from Jacob. Their last attempt was by the House of Herod the Great, an Edomite usurper of the throne of David with the support of the pagan Romans. Herod the Great sought to destroy Jesus as an infant, his descendants warred against Christ and His church. They all failed. Shall a man contend with God?
