Latter-day Glory of the Church

485

The vision of the latter-day glory of Jerusalem signifies the establishment of the church on the foundation of Christ, through which God would bless the world. “We are taught by this to not fix our eyes on the present condition of things, which are only a shadow, but on the Redeemer, by whom the reality will be declared.” (Calvin)

  1. Latter-days - We are in the last days.
  2. The Mountain of the House of God as the church.
  3. Three promised blessings. First, the gathering in of the Gentiles. Second, the writing of God's law on man's heart. Third, peace with God and fellow man.
Conclusion: The Lord has not yet fulfilled these promises regarding the church. Therefore, “We are taught by this to not fix our eyes on the present condition of things, which are only a shadow, but on the Redeemer, by whom the reality will be declared.” (Calvin)
