Job 38:1 tells us that this it is the word of Jehovah speaking, the whole Bible is God's word and is completely accurate, authoratative and will endure forever, but the things recorded in the word of God vary greatly, eg we have in some places the lies of men, we have in the book of Job we have the debate between Job and his friends. His friend's make a big mistake - they assume that the justice of God demands that sin will be punished here and will be seen to be punished here and therefore if someone is righteous they not be suffering as Job is, and if someone is suffering as Job is they will be wicked, and if someone is suffering as Job is and professes to be a servant of God they must be a hypocrite, and this their great error. Then God Himself enters into this debate and as the self-existent and eternal God He would graciously convince Job of his fault in being led into a questioning of God's ways. Let Job but rightly consider the physical things of this universe and he will see how incompetent he is to comprehend spiritual mysteries. We live in the so called scientific age and know things about the universe that men have never known before and it is easy to become proud in this knowledge and forget that regarding spiritual things we are just as incompetent. We trust these words are not wasted on us, they weren't on Job. (Job 40:3 + 42:3)
