The Authority of Jesus: Who Are You Following?

Remember this song? “I will make you fishers of men, fishers of men, fishers of men… I will make you fishers of men, if you fol----low Me.” Many of us who grew up in church were taught this in Sunday School or at Vacation Bible School. It’s a simple acknowledgement that to be a Christian is to follow Jesus, and to follow Jesus involves embracing His mission to rescue the lost. “Follow Me, and I will make you Mark 1:17 (NKJV)call to change course. It’s a call to follow Him as our benevolent Lord, not merely to know some facts about Him. And the closer we follow Jesus, the more we’re caught up in His soul-saving mission.
