Babylon: Great City Judged (part 1)

Chapters 17 and 18 are an explanation of specific details describing God's full wrath being poured out on Babylon - the city and the kingdom. Chapter 18 reveals the destruction of the actual city of Babylon - the physical, commercial and geographical headquarters of the world. The first eight verses present two angelic messages that boldly declare: (1) the fall of Babylon, with the results and reasons [vv.1-3], and (2) the call to come out of Babylon's sins, with the results and reasons [vv.4-8]. She had led the world into a self-centered luxury that focused on iniquity, immorality and sensuality - her self-confidence was brazen, her self-glory was empty and her self-indulgence was extreme.
