Prove It by Your Works

If a man is already justified by faith, it will be evidenced by his works. When we are called upon by God to examine ourselves to see if Christ is in us, we should be looking for grace, not our own merits. Our works, however, do testify that the faith we claim is genuine. The scriptures warn of those who have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof. James, in saying, "Faith without works is dead," is not contradicting Paul's message of justification by faith. James complements Paul's teaching, showing the evidence of our true salvation.
