The Wedding Garment
In a Jewish wedding you were provided with a wedding garment. Everyone in attendance would be wearing this same wedding robe that was provided for them by the master of the wedding. Without this garment one would be turned away from the wedding ceremony and forbidden to enter. This Jewish tradition is a picture of the righteousness we have in Christ Jesus! In the book of Revelation 7:9 the saints are before the throne dressed in white robes, all are wearing these white garments just like the wedding feast and they picture the righteousness of Christ. These were those in heaven for one reason, because Christ had washed their sins away! Only those wearing Christ righteousness will be allowed to enter in, the man who came in with his own garments was cast into outer darkness were there is weeping and gnashing of teeth!
