Wealthy Benefactor in Poverty

If you were unimaginably rich and you set out to transform a slum area, how would you go about it? Very likely your method would include the application of significant sums of money. This, surprisingly, is not the way God worked in Jesus. Rather, He chose to move into the area and become a victim of their bloody hands and hating hearts. God's only Son became a preacher. Some would call this impotent and pointless, or even stupid. Yet this is the most potent and beautiful means of rescue that God could have used. Astoundingly, Jesus, the Son of God, preached about Himself as the Messiah, yet instead of worshiping Him, they wanted to kill Him! Yet in spite of this, God's means in Christ's life were the most powerful means God could have used.
