066 Wishing Against Concrete
Series Preaching Pilgrim's Progress
91
It hardly seems a fair contest. One man stands in a faith as solid as concrete. Another faces him from a feather-light notion. He is staking everything on a flimsy hope that maybe he will be accepted in the judgment. He is wishing against concrete. He is incessantly arguing himself out of safety forever. His heart is deceiving him into self-destruction, yet he continues to trust its pampering lies.
Can you trust your heart? Do you trust what your heart says about you, especially when it consoles you with a hope of eternal glory when you have no grounds for such certainty?
Consider this sad delusion as we see Ignorance wishing against concrete.
