God the Shepherd-King Rescues his people

This week we want to develop a point that was implicit in last week's message. There we saw David's description of his role as a shepherd included the role of deliverer (1 Sam. 17:34-37). This is so since God, as the Shepherd of his people, is their deliverer. His victory over Goliath and his god(s) was a specific example of a general principle. He must gather his flock by delivering them from the hands of his enemies. More notes available via email.
