The Greatest Truth I've Ever Learned

I was not raised knowing the Sovereignty of God. As I learned this truth, I began to understand this as the greatest truth I have ever learned. The principle is found in Daniel 4:34-36. We find the dominion of the Lord is fro everlasting, HIs kingdom from generation to generation, the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing in His sight, and none can question Him. We see the Sovereignty of God in the lives of men Joseph, Jonah, Joshua, and Hezekiah. Basically, we learn that God is Lord of Heaven and Earth. We learn we are His sheep and the people of His pasture. We also learn, if God is Sovereign, then we are not. Since God is Sovereign, salvation is by grace. God is the Author and finisher of our faith. We learn the Holy Spirit is the Power behind Salvation. Finally, we look at the fact since God is Sovereign in salvation, He has a people. They shall come to Him, He will bring them in, because they shall hear. In conclusion, we see our part in salvation. The church is the mechanism which God uses to bring His sheep into the fold.
