"Stand therefore...having on the breastplate of righteousness." —Ephesians 6:14
The solider's breastplate protected his vital organs. Paul says that there is a righteousness that we need to "put on" if we're going to resist the devil's attacks and actually overcome him.
What is this righteousness? One thing for sure, Paul is NOT talking about personal morality. Pity the man who thinks he can stand against the devil with THAT breastplate on!
