From Suffering to Glory

There are the specific sufferings that come to us because of our identification with Christ. Because you are a believer in Jesus Christ, committed to living godly in this wicked world, you will suffer. Jesus said that is a fact in John l5. The world hates you because he has chosen you out of the world for Himself. So there is that suffering, that persecution that comes to us because of who we are in Christ. There is also the general suffering that we experience because of the impact of sin on creation generally. In other words, believers get sick like unbelievers do. Believers get serious illnesses and diseases like heart disease and cancer like unbelievers do. Believers experience difficulties in one way or another like the rest of the world does.
