Running the Race Set before Us

Every child of God is enlisted into the race of a lifetime to live for Christ. As any that will run in a race and win there are things that need to be put away from us; things that are hindrances to running our race well or something sinful, that if not put away we will ultimately disqualify us altogether. Chastening is the Lord's way of helping rid us of those things. In these few verses is some vital information to living to the glory of God.
