#6 Discerning the Spirit

Too often we trust in our own wisdom and ingenuity. We think we see a situation clearly. We think we are making a wise decision; all the while we are imbibing the world's poison. Ever hear someone say, all religions are the same? That is the world's poison and it is deadly to faith. Ever heard someone say, it doesn't matter what denomination you belong to, they are all basically the same. That is the world's poison and again it is deadly to true faith. If you have just become a follower of Jesus or even if you are trying to figure out what Christians are, there are so many different views, that it can be very tempting to simply pick the one that makes you feel good, or pick the one that makes sense to you. What you believe matters. What you believe about God and about yourself will determine your eternity so you better be sure to find a teacher/pastor who has it right.
