Paul's Example of Christian Love

Have you ever noticed how different families show love in different ways? Some families joke around a lot with each other. Teasing is a sign of affection for them. Other families show love by being really loud and vocal. When they gather for the holidays it’s like being in a crowded restaurant where everyone’s trying to be heard. Some families like to hug and touch.

How do we know what it looks like to show love in the family of God? As we come to God’s Word, we see what love for one another is supposed to look like. The apostle Paul is an amazing model of this in his letter to the Thessalonians. Paul's response to Timothy's report about the Thessalonians in 1 Thessalonians 3:6–13 gives us a picture of what Christian love looks like. By God's grace, we can seek to model that love in our lives.
